The lessons are multi-sensory, ensuring that students truly experience what they are taught, through discussion-starters, creating an interactive classroom. Children learn a shofar is fashioned; how honey is produced; squeeze their own olive oil; bake a round matzah; and learn from a Scribe the techniques used in writing a Torah and a Mezuzah. Our curriculum revolves around guiding the students to become knowledgeable and committed American Jews. The religious school trains its students to successfully participate in Bar/Bat Mitzvah services, however, our view is that the students' Jewish education does not end with Bar/Bat Mitzvah; but continues into their adult life. For this reason, we promote family educational programs whenever possible, and concentrate on areas that are relevant to the age and level of the child, rather than attempting to teach them “everything” prior to Bar/Bat Mitzvah. read less

They are: Chagim: Shabbat & Holidays; Am Yisrael: Jewish Identity; K'lal Yisrael: Community & History; Eretz Yisrael: Land of Israel; Talmud Torah: Jewish Literature; Ivrit V-T'Filah: Hebrew & Prayer. These provide the roots of your child's education and Jewish identity. When we tend to these roots your child can have a strong Jewish identity and a deep understanding of Judaism. Material is age-appropriate and allows for a "spiral" of learning where concepts are developed on a deeper level each year. In addition, students hold weekly t'filah (services) and enjoy the talents of our specialists in the fields of Rikud (Israeli dance) and Shira (music). Students can participate in a variety of field trips such as the Zimmer Museum and social action projects.
